Hey, just passing through. I linked here off a facebook profile which showed up on my suggestions.

Considering the subject matter of the post, this might be a little ironic, but I thought I would have a peek around because I was curious, and I was curious because I thought you were very pretty indeed.

Anyway, I have a few things to say.
Ultimately, you can reject the popular ideal as irrelevant with a little will and stubborness, and it rightly should be rejected. It's false. If you haven't already seen it, here is a thing from Dove's Campaign For Real Beauty which partially illustrates how: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYhCn0jf46U

I suppose that is easier said than done, but a rationale I often use myself, is that the species, in whole, is incredibly stupid. We're so susceptible to things like classism, racism, and groupthink, that it's a wonder we made it this far, or so I believe. A number of factors are against us, the biggest of which is probably our proclivity to herd. Another is that we are the only creature in all the world that *expects* to be taught. That makes passing down useful knowledge very easy, but the dark side is that we are often more than pleased to let others tell us the right way to do things without putting much thought into it ourselves.

The other thing, is a bit more laconic, really. About BMIs. I don't mean to bore you if you already know all about BMIs, but they have little to do with weight or the physical notion or fat or thin, or anything like that. It looks at your mass and calculates density to determine how much of what makes you up. A high BMI doesn't mean an excess of fat so much as it indicates a relative lack of meat-muscle, and the most direct way to repair that is to do build muscle. Actually build muscle, rather than merely get toned up a bit. A strong muscle is a dense one, so strength is the objective. I have a lot of that to take care of myself, tbh. A part of me doesn't even want to know my BMI, because my habits and behavior means that I can't possibly have a good one.

Girls are not the only one effected by the media portrayal of women either. Boys are just as conditioned to think that this false image produced by the media is beauty. It then becomes something of a self-fulfilling prophecy, causing itself to escalate.

Dynamism, uniqueness, difference, is really the stuff of beauty. You appear to value being an extraordinary sort of girl in your post, and rightly so.

That's my two cents. I hope you don't mind. :)
